Western Massachusetts

What we see from Springfield employers.

Healthcare and senior care hiring never stops

With Baystate, Mercy and dozens of nursing and home care employers competing for the same CNAs and nurses, smaller employers need faster hiring and cleaner onboarding to keep up.

Plants and shops run lean

Precision manufacturers along the I-91 and Mass Pike corridors often have an office manager doing payroll, safety records and HR at once. We take the HR side off their desk.

Nonprofits answer to boards and grants

Springfield's nonprofits need handbooks, classifications and payroll records that hold up to funders and auditors without paying for a full HR department.

HR in Springfield: common questions

Are you actually local to Springfield?

Yes. King & Co. is based in Ludlow, about 15 minutes from downtown Springfield. We work with employers across Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties and can be on site when it helps.

Do you work with Springfield nonprofits and grant-funded employers?

Yes. We help with job classifications, handbooks, timekeeping and payroll records that need to stand up to funders, boards and audits.

Do we really pay nothing in a month we do not need you?

For hours, yes. Hands-on work is billed hourly with no monthly minimum, so a month with no HR, payroll or hiring requests has no hourly bill. The only recurring charge is for optional tools you choose, like the employee help desk or text-to-ticket line, which is a flat fee under $150 a month.

Is there a contract?

Yes, a simple service agreement. It puts the scope, your team and the hourly rate in writing so both sides know what to expect. It does not lock you into a monthly minimum or a retainer.
